10-Yard Dumpster Rental Las Cruces
Our smallest bin β and the right call for a lot of jobs around Las Cruces. Cleanouts, bathroom remodels, single-room renovations, roofing tearoffs on small homes. Flat-rate pricing, same-day delivery to most neighborhoods.
10-Yard Dumpster Specs
Here’s exactly what you’re getting. Same dumpster every time β we don’t swap sizes on delivery.
What Fits in a 10-Yard Dumpster
These are the jobs we see most often with a 10-yard bin in Las Cruces. When in doubt, call us β we’ll tell you straight whether you need the 10 or the 15.
Single Bathroom Remodel
Demo tile, tub, vanity, drywall from one bathroom. The 10-yard handles it easily in most cases. If you’re also pulling out subflooring, call us to confirm.
Small Kitchen Renovation
Cabinets, countertops, flooring from a smaller kitchen. Watch the weight β granite counters add up fast. If you’re pulling heavy stone, go 15-yard to stay safe.
Garage Cleanout
Decades of tools, boxes, furniture, and stuff that should’ve gone to donation years ago. The 10-yard is the right size for a typical two-car garage cleanout in Las Cruces.
Roofing Tearoff (Small Roof)
Asphalt shingles from a smaller home β 1,000β1,500 sq ft of roof. Shingles are heavy, so we load by weight on roofing jobs, not volume. Call first so we can check your roof size.
Apartment or Rental Cleanout
Landlords near NMSU call us for this every May and August. One apartment unit of furniture, appliances, and junk fits well in a 10-yard. Two units β go to the 15.
Yard Debris & Landscaping
Tree branches, brush, old sod, cactus removal. Light material by weight β 10 yards gives you plenty of volume. If you’re also removing caliche or rock, we need to talk about weight first.
Flooring Demo
Tile, carpet, vinyl plank, hardwood from one or two rooms. Tile adds significant weight β a 10-yard can handle one room of tile, maybe two if it’s thin. Call us with the square footage.
Estate Cleanout (Single Room Focus)
Clearing out one heavy room β a workshop, garage, or utility area. If you’re doing the whole house, look at the 20-yard instead.
When the 10-Yard Isn’t Enough
The 10 is a great bin, but it’s not the right call for every job. Here’s when you need to step up.
Full House Cleanout
Even a modest-sized Las Cruces home will overflow a 10-yard on a full cleanout. Go to the 20 or 30, depending on how much has accumulated.
Caliche Excavation
Caliche in the Mesilla Valley weighs 2,400β3,000 lbs per cubic yard. A 10-yard bin will hit its 2-ton weight limit before it’s even half full by volume. Call us first.
Large Roofing Jobs
Roofs over 2,000 sq ft will likely exceed the 2-ton weight limit on a 10-yard. We’ll help you pick the right bin when you call with the roof size.
New Construction Debris
Framing, drywall, and concrete waste from a new build adds up fast. Most new construction jobs in Las Cruces need a 20 or 30-yard at minimum.
Multiple-Room Remodels
Doing the kitchen AND two bathrooms? That’s a 15 or 20-yard job. We’d rather right-size you upfront than have you pay for a second delivery.
Concrete or Block Demo
Concrete is extremely heavy β we don’t recommend putting it in a 10-yard. Even a small concrete pad can push you over the weight limit fast.
Renting a 10-Yard Dumpster in Las Cruces β What You Actually Need to Know
Most people who call us about the 10-yard have one of two things going on: they’ve got a small-to-medium project and want to confirm the bin is big enough, or they’ve never rented a dumpster before and they’re not sure where to start. Either way, we’re going to ask you a few quick questions about your project before we confirm the size β because the last thing we want is for you to be standing there on a Saturday with a bin that’s already full and more debris piled in your driveway.
Weight Matters More Than Volume on Some Jobs
This is the thing most people don’t think about until it’s too late. A 10-yard bin is rated for about 1β1.5 tons. That sounds like a lot β and for most jobs, it is. But there are a few materials that are heavy enough to hit the weight limit before the bin looks full. Caliche is the big one in Las Cruces. Roofing shingles are another. Concrete and tile can also get there fast. If your project involves any heavy excavated material, talk to us before you book. We’ll either confirm the 10 is fine, or we’ll move you up to the 15 or 20 so you don’t end up with overage charges at pickup.
Caliche β The Las Cruces Factor
If you’re doing any digging in Las Cruces β yard work, foundation prep, planting trees, anything that breaks ground β you are going to hit caliche. That calcium carbonate hardpan layer runs through most of the Mesilla Valley, and it is dense. We see this come up constantly with East Mesa customers doing new landscaping and West Side homeowners digging out old tree stumps. The hardpan varies by neighborhood β some areas hit it at 6 inches, some at 18 inches β but you’re going to find it. When caliche is in the mix, we size the bin by weight, not by how much you think you’re digging out.
HOA Rules in Sonoma Ranch and Other Planned Communities
If you’re in Sonoma Ranch, Castillo Real, or another HOA community on East Mesa, check your CC&Rs before you book. Some sections have rules about dumpster visibility, placement duration, or require the bin to be on the driveway rather than the street. We can work within those rules β we’ve done plenty of deliveries in HOA neighborhoods β but you need to know the restrictions before we drop the bin. We can also keep the rental window tight (24-48 hours) if your HOA limits how long it can sit.
Street Placement and City Permits
If your driveway can’t fit a 14-foot bin β which can happen with shorter driveways or certain lot layouts β we may need to place it on the street. Street placement inside Las Cruces city limits requires a Public Works permit from the City of Las Cruces. We’ll flag this when you call. The permit process is straightforward, but it takes a day or two, so same-day delivery on a street-placement job usually isn’t possible. Let us know your address and situation when you call and we’ll work out the logistics.
Monsoon Season Timing
Las Cruces gets hit hard by monsoon season from July through September. Flash flooding through arroyos can push debris, mud, and damaged materials into properties across the Mesilla Valley. After a big storm, demand for same-day dumpster delivery goes up fast β especially in lower-lying areas like Tortuga and the South Valley. If you’re calling after a monsoon event, call early in the morning. We dispatch in order of calls received.
Dumpster Placement Tips for Las Cruces Properties
For most Las Cruces residential properties, driveway placement is straightforward. A few things to think about before we arrive: make sure there’s clearance overhead (garage door tracks, tree branches, utility lines), and let us know if the driveway has a steep grade β we want to make sure the bin sits level and stable. We can put down wood planks to protect pavers or newer concrete if you’re concerned about marks. Just mention it when you call.
10-Yard Dumpster FAQs
How much does a 10-yard dumpster rental cost in Las Cruces?
We quote flat-rate pricing when you call β no fuel surcharge, no environmental fee added at the end, no delivery charge on top. The price we quote is the price you pay. Call us at (575) 242-6665 and we’ll give you a number in about two minutes. Price can vary slightly based on disposal fees, weight, and whether any rural mileage applies.
Can I get a 10-yard dumpster delivered same day in Las Cruces?
Yes β for most Las Cruces addresses, if you call before 10 AM we can usually deliver the same day. East Mesa, West Side, Sonoma Ranch, University Park, Picacho Hills, Downtown β all same-day. Rural DoΓ±a Ana County routes are typically next-day. Call us and we’ll confirm your specific address.
How long can I keep the 10-yard dumpster?
Standard rental is 7 days. Need more time? Call us and we’ll arrange an extension. We’d rather extend your rental than have you rush and leave stuff behind. Extensions are billed at a daily rate β we’ll tell you the number upfront.
What if my project generates more debris than I expected?
Call us. We can swap out for a larger bin or schedule a second pickup and redelivery. It happens β especially on older Las Cruces homes where you open a wall and find surprises. We’re used to mid-project adjustments.
What can’t I put in the 10-yard dumpster?
No hazardous materials β paint, chemicals, asbestos, oil, batteries, tires. No appliances with refrigerants (AC units, refrigerators). No liquids. If you’re working on a pre-1980 Las Cruces home and doing demo, test for asbestos first β we can take the clean debris but not material that needs abatement handling. Call us if you’re not sure about a specific item.
Do I need a permit to put a dumpster in my driveway in Las Cruces?
No permit needed for driveway placement on private property. If the dumpster needs to go in the street (due to driveway access issues), a City of Las Cruces Public Works permit is required. We’ll walk you through it when you call β just tell us your address and whether your driveway can fit a 14-foot bin.
Is a 10-yard dumpster big enough for a bathroom remodel?
For a single bathroom β yes, almost always. Tub, tile, drywall, vanity, toilet β the 10-yard handles it. If you’re also replacing subfloor or pulling up heavy stone, give us the details and we’ll confirm. Two bathrooms at once β step up to the 15.
What neighborhoods in Las Cruces do you serve?
All of them β East Mesa, Sonoma Ranch, University Park / NMSU area, Picacho Hills, Downtown, West Side, Mesilla Park, Sunset Terrace, Alta Vista, Mesilla village, Rinconada, North Mesa, Tortugas / South Valley. Plus rural DoΓ±a Ana County communities including Anthony, Sunland Park, La Mesa, Vado, and Radium Springs.
